Colorful BC oldtimer is still splitting grapestakes
Karm WEst lived in the Boulder Creek area all his life. He worked for 15 years in the road construction businesses owned by the Cress family, the Ley family, and the Maddock family. After these families would finish logging Karm would pick up the left over wood and spilt it for smaller uses. He has maintained a good business doing this with his friend Phil Hartman until Phil’s recent death. The article also talked about the early Boulder Creek days when the salloon were full and several companies would pick all the men up on Sunday and get them back to camp.
