Frederic was a descendent of the original pioneer family who settled in the San Lorenzo Valley in 1869. Frederic was in the lumber business supplying stakes and shingles from his mill. His father was Captain Brimblecorn who settled on a tract of land with large redwoods after serving in the Civil War and sailing a ship in the China trade.
