Redwood Pioneers
They were emblematic of the pioneer spirit of early pioneers who bravely survived the wilderness areas of the County. Often the children and their mother were alone in the woods and two children were born there while their father was away from home. Mrs. Maddock was thrilled when a road opened up from the valley to Boulder Creek so she could meet some of the stagecoach passengers as they passed through.
