Down Memory Lane
The article starts by discussing the origin of the “Swamp House” which was built in a swampy part of town and was widely known to be a bordello altho never talked about in public. While many in town wanted to get rid of the Swamp House, it stayed the course even through a fire that the Boulder Creek citizens help put out. But the Odd Fellows needed a new Lodge built and they bought the parcel of land the Swamp House stood on and built a new building with donations causing the demise of the bordello for good.
