The library began in the Women’s Christian Temperance Reading Room. After several large donations the move began to establish a real library in town. The library continued to use the existing space until the Santa Cruz Lumber Comany offered to donate the building to the town as a library as the Firemen were going to build their own facilities and no longer need it.
