Preston P. Q. Boomer, SLV High School teacher and his wife Deanne helped extinguish a brush fire near their home on Empire Grade. The Bonny Doon civilian defense fire team, Ben Lomond Youth Conservation Camp crew, and from the California Division of Forestry a spotter plane.
