Rachel and her husband both obtained their educational degrees but chose a non tradition path to teaching with simplicity in small one room schools in rural areas of California. When they retired in Boulder Creek she focused on he creative skills managing an arts and crafts gallery and making beautiful linens, and other gifts. She branched into ink drawings and is widely known in the Valley for her scenes of historic sites or nature.
