Boulder Creek's first firehouse

The bell was known as the McKinley Bell because it was rung using electricity at the California Jubilee celebration for the Gold Rush. President McKinley had the honors of ringing the bell. In the 1920s when this photo was taken, the building was a gas station and later a movie theater.
