William Klein took over when Phil Hartman retired after the position was vacant for about a year. During his tenure his team fought the fires that burned Simone Restuarant, Brookdale Lodge and Locatelli Grocery Store as well as the Ben Lomond fire that burned 24 homes. He also raised money to purchase three new engines and an emergency truck.
