1906 Boulder Creek job outlook was bleak

Frank remembers when the timber industry started to wan in Boulder Creek and the mills started closing. It was a time of financial hardship with less work available. During the heyday his family had a team of horses that moved the lumber the market. He states often the line of wagons there to pick up wood was half a mile long. The train made two trips daily with lumber to the wharves downtown. He also recounts the confrontation between the Prohibitionist and the saloon owners and patrons over drinking and several churches were burned over the disagreement.
