Recalled By Nonagenarians
Mary MacDonald, who is in her 90’s remembers a stagecoach ride in the gold country where she and her sister were riding to the State Fair in Sacramento and the stagecoach was robbed. Only the mail was taken and the passengers weren’t robbed. She also remembers the 1906 earthquake as she was staying at a home near the Presidio that had three floors so that the great fire that destroyed much of the city was visible. She and her husband moved to Boulder Creek in 1910 and lived there for over fifty years.
