George Cress says, "I love people and I love life"

George Cree arrived in Boulder Creek with his family in 1904. He spent some time in the Alaska Gold Fields and with the money he and a friend Fred Moody purchased a Livery and Transport service. They handled freight deliveries for businesses and transportation for residents and tourists. As cars became more prevalent, the livery started storing gasoline and eventually converted to a gas station. George Cress was a co owner of the station until the 1940s when he turned it over to his son. He has spent his later years serving in a variety of civic roles including, Director of the Recreation District, participating in the San Lorenzo Board of Trade, was on the County Board of Supervisors, served in leadership positions with the Fire Department and The San Lorenzo Valley Chamber of Commerce.
