George recalls his time in Alaska where he met his friend Fred Moody. He said they didn’t make a lot of money but they sure had fun. They came back for a visit to Boulder Creek with the plan to go back to Alaska but George met his future wife, Fred Moody’s sister Edith. He and Fred stayed and opened a livery stable and developed a thriving business transporting people and freight in the San Lorenzo Valley. The freight business turned into a gas station with the advent of cars and George eventually turned the business over to his son. He continued to stay very involved in the town through participation in many organizations and is enjoying retirement now.
