In addition to preservation of the history and life story of the individual, the transcriptions also capture a time and place in the County to preserve the community history as well. She uses a recent transcript of Hubert Wycoff, an attorney, as an example of rich details of both the individual and the community they lived in. The activity of oral history storytelling is also validating for the older person being interviewed. The project is collaboration with an oral histories project through UCSC.
