Santa Cru Lumber Moves into New Expanded Quarters

Fifty years from the time of publication George Ley and Hyman Steen were operating in the lime kilns in in a grocery store. They moved into lumber operating a sawmill up in Bonny Doon and developed a lumber yard called Santa Cruz Lumber Company which is still located in River Street in Santa Cruz. This site is being expanded with a convenience store that is designed to help the basic customer shop for hardware. The lumber business ships much of their lumber out of the area but still serves the needs of the community with the store improvements
