Old Felton Phone Exchange

They were first based in the Russell and Ley building before being moved to the Featherington buildling and then to the Miner building. The article describes the growth in customers who used the exchange until it was converted to dialing in the 1930s. Not that long ago, the power to make the call was generated by “turning the crank”.
