Felton;s History....next year 100 years old
1800s. the article details the development of the various routes into town such as the the Graham Road, the San Lorenzo Road from Santa Cruz, the many lumber mills that were established and the use of the flume to bring lumber down the valley. Railroads followed, replacing the flume up the valley to Boulder Creek and down to the shipping areas in Santa Cruz. the articles mentions many business establishments and hotels that were built i.e. the Cunningham house, The Big Trees House, livery stables and general merchandise. Many of the original buildings burned down in fires in the 1880s and 1890s.
