Abstract from news describing current events. mention is made of the significant rain the area has had lately and all the building going on. Also there is concern raised about the drinking, smoking and Gatlin going on in town. In a second entry a missing person report is noted. George Gillis of Contra Costa was on his way to visit a friend at a ranch about 7 miles up Zayante Road. He never arrived and letters indicate that he has not returned to Contra costa either. he was carrying a significant amount of money with him and his friends are asking for any information people have about is whereabouts.
