After 20 years of hosting the pancake breakfast to fund upkeep of the bridge the Felton fire Department has withdrawn its offer for the annual event. They are frustrated about the increasing vandalism that damages the bridge. In addition, the Federal Government is not planning on providing the hoped for funding to do major renovations needed. The plan is to wait until more funds can be gathered at the state level.
