Train Whistles Come Back

As tourism grew the stagecoach route to Santa Cruz changed to a train route through a tunnel in the mountains and people started staying for months at a time in the summer. The train could also be taken to the beach first down Pacific Avenue to the wharf and later through a dug tunnel under Mission Hill to g down Chestnut Street.
