Funding of $13,300 awarded to the Valley Women’s Group to coordinate a Community Resource and Needs Assessment across the three main area in the Valley. Boulder Creek/Brookdale, Felton and Ben Lomond will each help draft a plan to support the needs of their community in a disaster that might cut the area off from any outside support temporarily. Committees will be established to lead the discussion and a needs assessment will be completed and given to the Emergency Preparedness Director Marty Hammer. Planning would follow so that that the Valley communities are able to take care of themselves after a disaster. The first meeting is set for Felton in the coming weeks.
