A recent report indicates that the air quality of Santa Clara and Santa Cruz has been deteriorating with some standards for level of air pollution being exceeded. At the current time there is no active monitoring of air quality going on County wide, only in Scotts Valley. It is hypothesized that as air quality diminishes over the hill that pollution comes over to Santa Cruz through the passes.
