Quail Hollow students plot a hatch

A novel lesson plan is in use for the students of Quail Hollow elementary. they have been working with Dave Strieg of the Monterey Salmon Project and teacher Barry Burt to raise baby trout from eggs to little fish to be released in the river. In the process they have learned about habitat, water environment, life cycle to fish and the process of development of the fish in fresh and salt water. If the power can stay on to keep the tank the right temperature they hop to have little fish growing in their tank. Once they have hatched the tank does not have to stay dark and the students can observe them.
