About James Pieronnet Pierce
Article mentions the sale of 39 acres of the property from the Pierce estate to Judge Bond in 1895. Pierce bought the property in 1866. Pierce was very involved in mining, railroads, and lumber including the Pacific Manufacturing Company in Santa Clara. he owned a mill in Ben Lomond and helped to plan for the new town of Ben Lomond after the lumber industry left. Judge Twohy and his wife live on the property now. He is famous in his own right for his involvement in politics as well as the railroad industry. Roosevelt appointed Judge Twohy to be Govenor of the Federal Home Load Bank System and he was Chairman of the national office for United Way.
