Article describes New Park from its inception with owner James Pierce to Judge Bond, friend of Jack London and character in his books “Call of the Wild”. The opening chapter of the book describes the house of Judge Miller and his dog Buck which is patterned off of Judge Band and his St. Bernard and Scotch Shepherd dog. The article also gives a good review os the life os James Pierce who sold his property to Judge Bond. At the time of the article’s publication the house was owned by Mr Troy who was also quite famous.
