The Hermit of Love Creek
Johnny Olson was from Sweden and lived in the Ben Lomond area for forty years. He had a falling out with some of the citizens of Ben Lomon over his views on the Germans in World War I and he swore he would not buy anything or visit there anymore. He sold his vegetables, olives and other produce in Boulder Creek. He was known as a bit of an eccentric who would walk around naked at his house and coat his skin with olive oil that he made. He also made his own clothing out of food bags and he loved to bit off pieces of cigars and chew them like tobacco. He continued to have friends who visited him and brought him food to his house high above Ben Lomond. Fay Stevenson was one of those friends who also found him after he died at home and help the coroner in processing the case.
