Born in Waldo county Maine. Married twice, document lists children of both marriages. Served on the 2nd Calvery in the Union Army in Sacramento during the Civil War. He contracted syphillis while in the army and died in the Veterans Insane asylum in Napa in 1917. He lived with his second wife Martha in Oakland until 1915.
