Letters from Harry Love stating that his rangers shot and killed Joaquin Murietta who was identified by one of the rangers. He states he is certain that the head he has in his possession is the leader Murrieta. Several others have stated that it was someone named Joaquin but not Murrieta and that Joaquin Murrieta escaped to Mexico.
