Captain Harry Love: Black Knight of the Zayante

An in depth review of the life of Harry Love from his birth and young age in Vermont, his military campaigns, his expeditions on the Rio Grande, re-settlement in Santa Cruz, marriage to Mary Bennett and death by gunfire. Of note, two lesser known connections include being a descendent of Ethan Allen through his mother’s side in Vermont. Ethan Allen was a significant Revlutionary War hero with the Green Mountain boys. The article also cites good first hand knowledge of harry Love through his attorney in Santa Cruz Jeremiah Hyde who was a writer for the Sentinel during the time of the Civil War.
