Description of the Oregon Trail and the settlers who made their way to the West Coart

Story of the pioneers, starting in the 1840s who cross the county in search of farm land in a region friendly to Americans. California was still ruled by the Mexican Government so the first settlements were in Oregon and Washington. However when gold was found in Sacramento, waves of settlers came to California. The article contends, that all of these waves of pioneers contributed to what these three states are today.
