County Threatens to Go Its Own Way on Library
Budget discussions were heated at a recent meeting over discussions between County and City officials over the library system. The County suggested that if Santa Cruz City could not come up with their part of a new mid-county library ten they would be in breech of the contract with the County and the County could run the project themselves. Some discussion also about the branches that were cut from the library system and whether they should be provide some monies for their needs. In the end, the County approved the library's budget and added $12,000 for the two branches requesting funds.
