San Jose wants to move and preserve 120 year old home near sewage plant

The Santa Clara Sewage Plant needs to expand and the Zanker House must be moved. Options are two historical building parks but money is difficult to find to move the house (approx 5,000 to 10,000 dollars. The house is a Salt Box split level style. It was built by a German immigrant who came here for gold but settled down to farm near Alviso. The article contains some history of the family while they lived in the house. It was expanded over time to house 4 boys and 4 girls in the family. The desire of everyone is that the house is preserved and restored, not torn down.
