Notes from Alice Wilder on Ben Lomond Hotel

Alice Wilder mentions Ben Lomond Hotel, the Rowardenenn, and the Dickenson House. Ms. Wilder mentions that they all started with catering to the wealthy class and being very exclusive. Jews were not allowed to stay there and in some cases you weren’t allowed if you had Jewish sounding names. She states that anti-Jewish sentiment was blamed for the dwindling business and the later downfall of the hotels.
