Write-up of the recent Designer showcase 83
Over 5,000 people attended the event and while attendance was sparse due to rain in the beginning, the extended run of several days helped make up the difference. Two awards were given to the event for best renovation of a home and best example of community collaboration. The house was owned by the Nassir family from 1939-1975 who were a wealthy family from San Francisco. It was a summer retreat and totaled 26 acres. It was sold to Santa Cruz County Parks in 1975 for use as a facility for social functions.
