Hartmans
History of the Hartman family in which the mother relocated to Santa Cruz after being left by the father with 8 sons. They hitch hiked from Canada to Boulder Creek. The mother was German and spoke no English. They lived in a house on Highway 9 in Boulder Creek. Also details history about George, Meno and Isaiah Hartman, 3 of the 8 Hartman boys. George and Isaiah went into business. Isaiah and Meno had a disagreement over a loss of 10,000 dollars that was blamed on Isaiah and created a rift in the family. Meno had a mental break-down over the event and spent some time in Agnew Hospital.
