The Felton Flume

The author notes that the narrow gauge railroad from the wharfs in Santa Cruz to the Felton flat between today’s Cremery restaurant and the covered bridge. The flume was then built from Boulder Creek to travel 12 miles to Felton to be loaded on the train. Once Southern Pacific built a second train from Los Gatos and then a spur to Boulder Creek and the flume was no longer needed.
