Ben Lomond's highland fling
Write-up of the Scottish Fling held in Ben Lomond in July 1983. Scotland has been adopted by Ben Lomond ever since the mountain nearby was named Ben Lomond by a Scottish resident and the Newell Creek Reservoir which baptized with water from Loch Lomond in Scotland. There is even a Scottish castle built by a Scottish transplant to Ben Lomond. The festival has Scottish music sung by folk singers and bagpipes. Arts and crafts are available for sail as well as food. Commentary by several visiting Scots noted that they were happy to see that the town had embraced Scottish traditions and that they joined the participants in wearing their tartan plaid.
