The day after opening- earthquake!
Recollections of Willinah Dickenson on the opening of the Dickenson Store the day after the San Francisco earthquake. Her parents intended on the store bringing dry goods to the San Lorenzo Valley but they were not able to get any of their deliveries from San Francisco after the disaster. So they shifted their focus to what the community needed such as hardware, materials, food supplies, etc. The location continues today under the current owners as an important source of support for the area.
