Boulder Creek is celebrating its 100th anniversary today

Interview with Faye Ellis who notes that the town never really had a Scottish connection with its residents but the town embraced the idea of Scottish tradition and heritage with its names for the town and nearby mountains and lakes and it Scottish Fling held every year. Ellis also gives some background about the early lumber days and subsequent tourism industry. She states that she believes the original owner of the mill always intended to have a town established after the trees were gone as evidences by trees he left in place and others he added.
