County supervisors approve funds for women's minimum security jail

Women will have a minimum security jail equal to what's provided for men. The Supervisors approved the closure of the Women's Work Furlough facility in Ben Lomond and opening a minimum security jail on Blaine Street that can accommodate 8 women. It is hoped that the new facility will also handle women who do not qualify for work furlough so they do not wind up staying at the County Jail.
