Chuck Atkinson and Sarah Rabkin were faculty at UC Santa Cruz at the time of the quake; while Sarah was in a union meeting, Chuck saw the earthquake from a vista on campus over the bay. Their account includes two “documentary poems” from Chuck on his experience, and Sarah’s vantage point as a resident preceptor in the campus dorms.
