Two-Reel Comedy Made Here Given Eastern Bookings

A two-reel comedy, "Higher Education," recently completed by R. W. Bruce, an experienced motion picture director working with local capital, has been released for bookings in several eastern states through the Richard Kipling Enterprises of Los Angeles. Mr. Bruce and his company have been using an outdoor stage built on the boardwalk, adjoining the scenic railway, for their interiors and several of the exterior scenes were made at Felton and in that neighborhood. The picture has gone out under the name of the Santa Cruz Productions.

At a meeting of a dozen business men with Mr. Bruce at the Chamber of Commerce rooms last night plans were formulated for the making of a five-reel marine drama by Mr. Bruce to be released under contract by the Kipling Enterprises. Local money entirely will be invested in the film. F. M. Garrison is president and trustee of the local group and work on the film will start in about a week or ten days hence.

Mr. Bruce is not attempting to produce highly expensive films but feels satisfied with his local backers with the saleability of the type of film of which the first five-reeler will be representative. "
