That the smallest details in the proper production of an elaborate moving picture story cost plenty of money is concretely illustrated by just one incident connected with the presentation of "The Danites," which the Selig Playscope people are going to put on among the hills back of the city very soon.

J. L. McGee, the Pacific coast representative of the company, is now in Sacramento on a hunt for some wagon-tongues, having made the trip to the capital city from Santa Cruz especially for the purpose of getting those particular articles and because he had found out that their form of construction was properly in keeping with the wagon-tongues in use during the early days--the period in which the story of the Danites is placed.

It has been learned that "The Danites," when completed, will be a 3000-foot story and will be produced at great expense. Many of the "interiors" of the photoplay have already been made in the Selig studio at Edenvale, in southern California. In the outside work here quite a few local people will be used for some of the minor parts."
