In less than a week - Feb. 24 is the deadline - enemy aliens must leave the designated prohibited areas in the Pajaro valley as well as in scores of other areas in California.

And while the authorities have been bearing down hard on Japanese nationals, we must believe that they are not blind to the dangers from German and Italian nationals who are disloyal to this nation.

Naturally, most of our attention has been focused on the Japanese because they constitute what we believe to be the worst fifth column threat on the west coast. But it stands to reason there must be hundreds of nazi and fascists among the enemy aliens who would stop at nothing to damage or delay our war and defense efforts.

Some Germans and Italians have been rounded up throughout the state, along with hundreds of Japanese. The nazi and fascist adherents should be punished as severely as the disloyal Japanese.
