Notes from Edson Strobridge (April 2000)

Elias Yates was born in 1839. On March 17, 1862 he enlisted as a private in Co B & G of the 2nd MO SM Cavalry. During the Civil War he was also a member of Co K, 13 MO Cavalry which was organized in 1864-65 from Veterans of Missouri State Militia Regiments.

He died on Jan 14, 1919 in Santa Barbara California and is buried in the Mountain View Section, Lot 115, Gr1 of the Santa Barbara Cemetery. He has a Military marker.
