Thomas H. Wilcox, Co B 7 Reg't ME. Infantry was enrolled August 21, 1862 and discharged June 10, 1865, on S.C. of D., as of Co. G. 1 ME Vet. Inf, to which transferred Sept or Oct '64 from Co G, 7 ME Inf. to which transferred July or Aug. 64.

From Enlistment to Discharge he held the rank of Pvt., and during that period the rolls show him present except as follows: First borne on Muster Roll for Nov. & Dec. 1862, present. June 3 of 1863, absent missing in action at Fredericksburg, VA, May 4 1863. June 3 of 1864, absent wounded at Wilderness, VA. May 5 1864 to April 3 of 1865 wounded.

Prisoner of War Records show him captured at Fredericksburg, May 4, confined at Richmond, VA., May 9 1863, year at City Point VA, May 15, 1863. Reported at Camp. Parole, MD May 18 1863, Furloughed Sept. 13 1863 for 30 days, failed to report at expiration.

The Medical records show him as follows: as Thomas H. Wilcox, Private Co. B. 7th Maine Infantry from -- to April 7 1863, Typhoid Fever, returned to duty; wounded wrist and missing in the engagement at Chancellorsville, VA. May 3 & 4 1863; treated May 4 1863, Wounded as T.H. Wilcox to May 5 1864. Wounded as Thomas H. Wilcox etc. May 26 to June 2 1864. GSW Rt. Foot fracture of inner metacarpal wounded at Wilderness May 5 to 1864; June 5 to July 27 1864 G.S. Wound right foot: July 28 1864 to June 10 1865. Discharged from service June 10, 1865.

Death of T.H. Wilcox

Thomas Henry Wilcox, for many years a trusted employee at the California Powder Works, died at his residence there on Monday December 9th. He was a native of Maine, aged 43 years and 10 months. He married some years ago the widow of John [Editor note: Rufus?] Tufts, who lost his life in an explosion at the mills. The funeral will take place today at the Catholic Church on the arrival of the procession which will start a 1 o'clock PM from the Wilcox residence at the Powder Mills.
