Santa Cruz Sentinel (April 15, 1906)

All members of Post No. 32 G.A.R., and all old soldiers and sailors are requested to be at post room, Monday April 16, 1906 at 1:30 PM sharp to attend the funeral of our late comrade J.D. White.

Funeral of the deceased will be under the auspices of the G.A.R. Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock from late residence on center street.

Former Jeweler and Veteran of the Civil War is Laid to Rest

The funeral of the late James D. White drew out a large number of the deceased friends on Monday afternoon, who came to pay their respects to the dead.

Rev. J.W. Bryant of Alameda who married Mr. and Mrs. White 19 years ago, was the officiating minister and the pall bearers were the members of the G.A.R. and their three civilians as follows: Col W.V. Lucas, J.B. Brown, Judge Craghill, J.H. Horshsnyder, F.W. Baldwin, and E.H. Eggleston. Internment was in the IOOF cemetery.
