Robert Holloway Taber, died Thursday night at his home at 11 Second St., Beach Hill. He had resided for two years in this city with his wife. Pneumonia was the cause of death. The deceased was 79 years old, and a native of New Bedford, Mass. The family came her from Corning where they spent fourteen years.
The deceased was an old soldier of the civil war and a member of Wallace-Reynolds Post, G.A.R. of this city.
Besides the widow the deceased leaves the following children to mourn his loss: Mrs. Charles A. Pope, Elmhurst, N.Y.; Robert W. Taber, Memphis Tenn.; Frank R. Taber, New Bedford, Mass., Harry W. Taber, Boston Mass.; Arthur D. Taber of Oakland. who arrived in Santa Cruz Friday; Mrs. OP Allen, Inglewood, Cal.; Mrs. A.O. Peden and Mrs. W.C. Hoffmann, both of Santa Cruz.

Old Soldier Laid to Rest
Rev. E.H. Milnes of the Methodist Church conducted the funeral of the late Robert H Taber Saturday afternoon at the funeral parlor of Wessendorf & Staffler. The G.A.R. and W.R.C. attended in a body and accompanied the funeral cortege to the Odd Fellow's Cemetery. At the grave, Chaplain Thos. Blanchard delivered a short address. The pall bearers were John Stofer, M. Fallon, W.V. Lucas, H. Gould, C. Bibbins and P. Hynes.
