Samuel Shaw Dies

Death called Samuel J. Shaw this morning at his home near Soquel. Mr. Shaw was 81 years, 3 months old. His home was near the Brown Bulb Ranch. The body is at the Wessendorf Mortuary. Tomorrow it will be taken to Fresno where funeral services will be held. Mr. Shaw is survived by his wife Eliza Shaw.

Samuel Shaw Passes Away

Samuel J. Shaw, who died near Capitola Monday at the age of 81 years, was a Civil War veteran. He was born in Tennessee and enlisted when war was declared between the north and south.

Mr. Shaw was a former brick and tile manufacturer in Illinois until he retired and came to the west. He lived in Fresno for many years, which he made his home until last year when he came to Capitola and lived with his daughter there.

The body has been sent to Fresno for burial.
