Wedding in Post and Corps
When news leaked out that Dr. H. V. Monnett and Mrs. Derby had quietly slipped away to Oakland to wed, "we all" put our heads together and decided to surprise them on their return. So Monday afternoon we pulled off our stunt, which was a grand success. The post and corps to the number of twenty gathered at their home on Laurent street and showered them with congratulations. The afternoon was spent in giving much unsolicited advice, stories, etc., and finally delicious refreshments were served, with Comrade Hynes toastmaster. In the early eve we all took leave, with hearty good wishes for their health and happiness.
